First misconception: We welcome anyone and everyone. No previous experience needed. Your first three practices are free! After that, our yearly dues are ridiculously cheap (almost as cheap as a ONE month for a gym membership).
See our Calendar for specific dates and times. We typically practice once a week on Saturday mornings, and add in Sunday and Tuesday evenings around races.
“The strength of the team is each member. The strength of each member is the team.”

Dragon boating is a fun and alternative way to work out the full body. Contrary to popular belief, it is more legs, core, and back, than arms. The sport attracts a wide spectrum of skill levels and ages. It’s a great chance for team building, a social outlet and pushing yourself for competitions! It’s also a great intro to wider world of paddling sports such as Outrigger Canoe, Stand Up Paddle boarding, and kayak racing.
Even more, it’s a great way to meet new people. If you’re interested, just come out to one of our scheduled practices at Lady Bird Lake. We meet at the Waller Creek Boathouse/Austin Rowing Club and you’ll see our dragon boats tied to the dock. Don’t worry, we have all the equipment you need. Just bring water and clothes you don’t mind getting wet in.
See our FAQ for more info such as parking and equipment!
